Deafway

mck prepared a competition entry for a mixed-use development for ‘Deafway'.

The brief generally was to produce a scheme with a separate residential element and a deaf cultural centre encompassing offices, a social club, theatre and cafe. Special considerations were encompassed within the design, with ‘moving hands' at the entrance welcoming people to the development.

A presentation was made and favourably received. mck was short listed but due to circumstances the project didn't progress.
